Breeze Flights from MCO to Canton

Once upon a time, not long ago, in the land of ‘Anything goes’ that is Orlando, there resided an intrepid traveler, let's call him Jack. His pockets were not as deep as the Grand Canyon, hence, he was always on a scavenger hunt for cheap flights. And why not? After all, ‘A penny saved is a penny earned. Travel another mile!’ as per the age-old adage written by me just now.

One day, Jack decided he had had enough of battling wizards and shaking hands with giant mice. It was time for the comfortably numbing pleasantness of a small city. Jack got Alaska on his mind; no, not the state, but Canton, "the little Alaska of the lower 48". And he decided to fly Breeze, the newest prince of the skies, with its charming flight deals that promised Jack more savings to extend his Alaskan dreams.

Jack, being an aficionado of direct flights, defied the intricate labyrinth of connecting flights in his quest for the quintessential one-way route. However, their non-existent nature on this route slightly dampened his spirits. Ultimately, he had to settle for a simple and less exotic affair - a single layover holding his adventurous streak in leash.

His lingering romance with the heartland of theme parks found him stationed at MCO in Orlando. Paying his respects to the spirits of the airport - desperate honeymooners, lost souls contemplating their baggage allowance, thrill-seeking rollercoaster raiders, and hobbling octogenarian snowbirds - he embarked on his maiden voyage with Breeze.

As he settled into the humble confines of economy class, Jack recalled tales he'd heard of airline reviews. Some hailed their in-flight services with an almost divine awe, singing praises of divine pretzels and canned juice. If the stories were to be believed, the flight attendants were descended straight from Olympus, treading the narrow aisles with a blessed grace.

But Jack wasn’t naive enough to swallow these tales without a grain of salt, for he knew people tend to exaggerate. He had heard a traveler spinning a yarn about his round-trip ticket on a red-eye flight, where the attendant confided being an undercover secret agent. Or the jaw-dropping account of a fellow passenger – supposedly in the witness protection program – discussing the best time to book last-minute flights escaping the Mafia assassins.

As he chuckled over his fellow travelers’ fertile imagination, he kept tracking his own flight duration. Anyone who has ever sat in a confined space with 130 strangers and a questionable meal would tell you - the passage of time behaves oddly when one is 36,000 feet up in the sky.

Jack was currently enrolled in Breeze’s frequent flyer program and had been considering wrestling his way up to business class for the coupons that came with it. He dreamt of the day he’d be munching on blue lobster bisque and sipping champagne - all free, ordered with a smug, “Put it on the house!” The dream soon turned into a far-fetched fantasy featuring free first-class upgrades, a chance encounter with a Hollywood diva, international flights to Cannes, and standing ovation at the red carpet – all thanks to his mighty mileage program!

Meanwhile, the in-flight mega screen showed an overly enthusiastic host explaining Breeze's flight cancellation policy, the way they cheerily might discuss a surprise birthday party. The irony of it all had Jack contemplating if there was anything more paradoxical than a canceled flight pre-emptive instructional video.

Between the climax of the cancellation policy video and the commencement of his airline meal, Jack considered writing an exclusive review on ‘The excruciating hunger pangs at cruising altitude’. But the aromatic promise of microwave heated chicken stifled his authorial ambitions for the time being.

With such satirical musings and mundane adventures, Jack's flight indeed breezed by. Soon, the blinking seatbelt sign announced his arrival at the Canton terminal. His journey was as uncomplicated and unpredictable as most flights often are. And as he unbuckled the belt and got up to grab his carry-on, he remembered the true essence of travel - 'In-flight meals and mileage programs, my dear friend, are not what travel is about. The magic truly lies in the baggage of experiences you collect.'
